The novel was pretty good, but it read a little slow only because I had already watched the first season on DVD. I liked the series, so I was interested in reading the novel and was a little surprised that the novel and the show were almost identical, I mean right down to the dialogue. On one hand, its great that they stayed so faithful to the story, but on the other it made reading it a little boring because I already knew what was going to happen. An amazing tale or adventures and a whole new world where knights and princesses still roam the realm, with magic creatures and far off islands. I am so hooked on this novel that I am even dreaming about the characters. Martin's style is addictive, his characters are intricate and complex.
