I had heard so many rave reviews about this book that I was excited when both of my book clubs announced they were reading this book (and even better, in the same month, freeing up even more book time for my years & several aims/challenges).

A fan of Weir since The Martian, I somehow never did get around to reading his book 2, but there was talk about this one EVERYWHERE last year.

This book was just as much fun as The Martian, if not more. There were several twists and turns I was not expecting which made the read even better. Andy Weir did a fantastic job with the time jumps between past and future. I would highly recommend to anyone.

If Andy Weir writes it, I will read/listen to it. He had me with The Martian. Artemis was next, while not as delightful, it was enjoyable. Andy got his groove back here with the excellent Project Hail Mary.
What I like the most, I think, is that yes it's science fiction and wee bit over my head, but the story is the thing. The characters. The relationships. The science is the base but everything else makes the story move forward and made me drive around the block one more time or sit in the park

This may be an unpopular opinion, but overall I found this just OK. I was disappointed because I loved The Martian and Artemis, but this didn't live up to those for me at least.

Synopsis: Dr Ryland Grace is on a mission to save humanity. He's on a suicide mission in space, working with a friendly alien, to try to find a way to stop an organism from eating up the sun. Will he figure it out in time to save Earth and the alien planet his new friend is from?

I've read that if you enjoyed The Martian

I loved this book so much! I loved The Martian, but this one completely surpasses it in so many ways. I feel like I cannot write a review that adequately describes my feelings right now. The Martian was a really smart book, and hilarious, and it appealed to me because of all the problems Mark Watney faced and the innovative solutions he came up with - and Andy Weir is also such a great writer in the way he makes it easy to understand all the science-y stuff.

But this book. This book has got all

It’s just like the Martian except on a ship and he makes a friend. Things break, gets fixed, yay. Not many swears.

Only took two days to devour this book. Hardly ever read SciFi but Weir never disappoints.
