Well... it wasn't at all what I expected. I was expecting something like A Darker Shade of Magic with a Dickensian feeling to it, and I got... hmm... I suppose the base is a love story. It's more a literary fiction than Dickensian. The only Dickens in it is that it's kind of socially realistic view of Victorian society, though... it didn't feel like it.
