What a fun start to new-to-me mystery series!! I absolutely love the character Veronica Speedwell! She's got spunk, wit, and she's so independent. The story gripped me right from the very beginning. It was so refreshing to read a novel that is filled with lots of great vocabulary words, too. Can't wait to read the next in this series. ...more

Enjoyable historical mystery. Loved the main character who was spunky, snarky, and fearless. The banter between Veronica and the constantly brooding Stoker is amusing and their intelligence and bravado make them the perfect team to find the answer to Veronica's dilemma. ...more
