So many of my friends recommended this book to me that I was expecting something special. I think that the problem for me is that I don't enjoy the "damsel in distress" genre. But the fact that it was written in first person left me wondering how the final twists were going to work out and that kept me reading until the end, even when several times I thought to myself, "That's it, I'm going to put this down." Shelves: suspense, travel, norway, read-in-2017, cruise-ship

Lo Blacklock is a travel journalist covering the inaugural trip of the niche cruise ship the Aurora on its trip from England to Norway. The ship only has 10 cabins. Lo becomes concerned when the woman in the cabin next to hers disappears, possibly murdered. I figured out who the bad guy was fairly easily and was rather annoyed by Lo. I also thought the ending was kind of ridiculous. I didn't like the audio book narrator. I found all of her accents to be annoying and distracting from the story. ...more
