Laura | 9707 comments Hello everyone! I can't wait to 'meet' you all. I 'm your captain this time around. Ive lost track how many times I have been captain or co captain! I'm from Nova Scotia, Canada. I love reading and talking books, hiking camping and bowling! I read all different kinds of genres but my favorites are YA, mystery and historical fiction!
When you check in if you could link your Wobble shelf I'll start getting us organized after work tonight.
What is everyone currently reading?
Happy Wednesday!!

Karen D | 785 comments Hi Laura and team! So excited to get started with this! I'm in the DC area and in addition to reading, I'm just about always running (training for a marathon this fall). Favorite genres are historical fiction and thrillers. Currently trying to catch up on Outlander for the NBRC BOTM. I'm also trying to get into audiobooks to make my commute a bit more manageable, but I'm worried about not liking a book I would have otherwise loved, just because the narrator was annoying. (Right now on audiobook - Forever

My Wobble shelf is: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list... (I got really creative with the name)

Charlie (miss_charlie_d) | 172 comments Hi everyone! This will be my first TEAM challenge and I am ridiculously excited!

Other than reading, I love to travel, hike and craft (sew, quilt, crochet, knit, etc). My favorite genre was always SF/fantasy, but lately I've just been all over the map! Right now I'm reading Raise the Titanic!, trying to read the entire Dirk Pitt series before I move. I live in Southern California now, but soon I'll be back in my home state of Nebraska.

I wish I knew our awesome team name before creating my bookshelf! It would have been WAY more exciting... https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

I can't wait to start!

Hi Everyone!!!! My name is Marguerite and I live in south central Florida. I am happily married and we just moved here back in April so I am still unpacking. We moved here from Tampa Bay FL. I love to read/study the Bible, crochet, do puzzle books as in Sudoku/Kakuro/crossword, cook, amusement parks and read, read, read to name a few things. I have a library here at the house which consists of two room, fiction and non-fiction. The genres I read are just about all romance (love historical), horror, classics, scifi/fantasy to name a few. All fiction except thriller, mystery, who done its. Non-fiction genres are biographies, American Indian History, American Old West History, Some European History, American Civil War History, Vietnam War true stories, true ghost stories, books on true and strange facts, Bibles, religious, cookbooks to name a few. My fiction library has 9 tall bookcases and 2 short bookcases. My non-fiction has 9 tall bookcases and 1 short bookcase. Both libraries the books are shelved according to all the different genres. The books are also shelved by author starting at A going to Z and then each title if an author has a lot of books going A to Z in each genre. Also have a kindle with well over 1000 books. In both libraries are also animal statutes, santa clause statutes (no santas wearing red and white) as well as coffee mugs and shot glasses from all the places Hubby and I have been. If it looks and sounds interesting I will read it.rofl Hubby spoils me rotten where the books are concerned because I usually spend $150 to 600.00 in one visit.lol smile My mantra is Books, books, books, lots and lots of books.rofl By the end of this weekend I will have both libraries unpacked and shelved.

Let the reading begin!!!! Looking forward to getting to know everyone!!!! Yep, I love excl;amation points.lol

Amanda (daughterofoak) | 3473 comments Hello fellow Harpies!

I'm one of your co-captains for this challenge and I'm also the mod mentor for the air teams.

I live in Northern California in the Sierra Nevada Foothills. Besides reading I like to hike, write, knit, spin, sew, paint...pretty much anything crafty. I also spend a lot of time walking dogs at my local animal shelter.

I read mostly fantasy, sci-fi, romance, and the occasional classic. I will read pretty much anything but I don't usually have the patience to read biographies or history books. I used to think I had a lot of books but after Marguerite's introduction my "library" feels pitifully small. :D

TV-wise my favorite shows are The Walking Dead, Game Of Thrones, and Supernatural.

I'm looking forward to getting to know you all!

Hi Laura!!!! Looking forward to getting to know you and everyone else here!!! Back in 2008 and before I only read romance which was mostly historical romances. Then in 2008 I told Hubby I have always wanted to have my own library and told me go for it/do it. I started off in 2008 with only 2 tall bookcases with each shelf crammed top to bottom with books and here I am today with 18 tall and 3 short bookcases.rofl I just wish I had kept all the books I have had in my lifetime (I will be 58 this year)but if I had there would be no room for furniture.lol smile My grandmother (dad's mom) taught me to read when I was around 4 yrs old. Then in 3rd grade every month the teacher would give all of us a paper magazine thing chocked full of books we could buy. I went home that first month and told dad about it and I wanted to buy 3 to 5 books. He asked to see the magazine, I gave it to him and he thumbed through it and then asked me if that was all the books I wanted. I told him I would like to have more and he said to mark all the ones I wanted and then bring it to him. I did and he told me to get all of them which was 25 to 30 books (those books only cost 15 cents to 25 cents each) and every month I bought that many books all the way up to the end of 6th grade. In 3rd grade when mom and dad realized I loved to read they ordered Readers Digest each month for me to read. By the end of my 3rd grade year I had read all the books from 1st grade level to and through 6th grade level. As you can see I love to talk.rofl smile

Right now not reading anything, busy unpacking.lol

Rachel (beneatthetrees) Hello Harpy Eagles!

I've never done a team challenge before so please bear with me! I'm extremely excited and as of tomorrow I will be finished my sophomore year of college and will have plenty of time to read to my heart's content! I'm so excited to be reading with all of you!

I'm really not picky when it comes to books but I am OBSESSED with reading lists! Right now I'm trying to read everything on the Nothing But Reading Challenges bookshelf! But as for favorites I do have a huge soft spot for books with main characters who bake. I don't know why but I get a lot of enjoyment out of those. But any genre is fair play for me. :)

I live up in the Pacific Northwest in Washington where I work as a library page and lately the summers have been getting really hot so I'll have an excuse to stay inside and read! My other interests and hobbies (besides reading) are Pinterest (I'm an avid user), drawing, doing pilates and yoga, experimenting with makeup and baking, dressing up at all times (I have a soft spot for vintage/pin up looks), and playing any of the Sims franchise games (and other video games but Sims is my favorite)

My favorite shows are Doctor Who, Daredevil, and the X Files at the moment. While my favorite movies are Pride and Prejudice with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth (also tied for my favorite book alongside The Host), Slumdog Millionaire, any X Men movies, and most animated movies.

My shelf is here: https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

Hi Karen!!!! Lucky you living in DC with all the museums and the National Library!!!! Audio books are the only ones I really don't want to get into. I am afraid I am old fashion I love the feel of an actual book in my hand. I broke down and got a kindle in 2009 because I could get free books for it.lol But actual books is still my preference.smile

Love your wobble shelf name.smile

Hi Charlie!!!! Hubby is into Scifi/fantasy genre and he turned me onto them!!!! Some of the ones I really love are Shannara Series by Terry Brooks, Wheel of Time Series by Robert Jordan, Dune series by Frank Herbert, Hitchhiker Series by Douglas Adam, Game of thrones by George R.R. Martin, The Hunger Game Trilogy by Suzzanne Collins to name a few. I got Hubby The Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind I want to read. Some reason I love the long series in scifi/fantasy the best.lol

megan | 1322 comments I'm Meg. Ohio. I'm in the aerospace/aviation industry. I get most of my reading it done while traveling for work. I spend my non-reading free time at the dog park, hiking, golfing, home brewing, crafting, and tutoring maths and physics.
When it comes to books, I am up for almost everything, but usually gravitate toward historical fiction, thrillers/suspense, and non-fiction. Right now I am reading Behind the Beautiful Forevers: Life, Death, and Hope in a Mumbai Undercity, The Red Fox, and Truman.

Lucky you. What an awesome home library. So jealous and I thought Amanda had an awesome library!!( Marguerite, I love exclamation points as well!!)
I bought so many books as a teenager and young adult I would have had a massive home library now if I had kept them all. ( It certainly would not have rivaled yours Marguerite) Now I use my library ( a lot) but lately the last few months I have been using my OverDrive system and reading ebooks and getting freebies from Bookbub and kindle.

Cecily Kyle | 1682 comments Hey Everyone!!

I am so happy and excited to be a part of this team challenge! I participate in a lot of solo challenges but never had the opportunity to be in a team challenge. (I always miss the sign up :( )
I have an item on my bucket list to read 5,000 books before I die but I only started in 2011 so I haven't gotten that far yet.
My favourite genres are Dark, Erotica, Romance, YA, Mystery.
The main genre that usually gets to me is historical fiction. I just usually can't get into it.
I am a nanny for a young woman with special needs, and I tend to have a lot of time to read. We plan to be enjoying the sun as much as possible, and I plan to always have a book with me on our adventures.
I am also a huge fan of movies and television shows so just like books it's really hard for me to choose a favourite.
I am currently reading Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia but I should finish it up today.
Can't wait to start!!! I hope we are a chatty group!!

Thank you!!!! Hubby wants me to concentrate on buying more non-fiction books, but I told him I have to have my fiction as well for variety. As in different books for different moods.lol Your bedspread sounds beautiful!!!! Time always seems to be a shortage where crocheting is concerned with reading, cooking/baking and all my other hobbies not to mention taking care of a house and spending tons of time with Hubby.rofl I started the bedspread in 2008 and am a little over half way done on it. Started the tablecloth back in 2010 and not very far along in it. The tablecloth is in crochet thread that looks antiquish in small blocks that are intricate, small stitches. But these kind of blocks I love because they are crocheted together to form the tablecloth to finish each block, so no stitching all those crazy blocks together.lol smile

I told Hubby we win the powerball or mega millions big huge time after taxes we are building our dream home which for me would have 3 long wide rooms on one side of the house full of bookcases. Then I would hire a butler to do all the cleaning, some of the cooking so I can read, study the Bible, crochet and all the other things I love to do all the time!!!!rofl smile
