Interesting! I liked this one, but I had a few problems with it.

I'm all for novels with a touch of magical realism, so this kinda steampunk/kinda throwback urban fantasy vibe worked for me. The historical setting between London and Japan added to the lyrical quality of the story. I like the mystery surrounding Mori, and how this mystery is played out through events small and large in Thaniel's life. It's definitely a quiet book, so if you're in it for thrills and page turning I'd skip this one. ...more
