What Members Thought

Another great book by Sanderson. I'm so glad I found him. I have now read 2 of his books: Mistborn and the way of kings. I will be reading all of his books. He is simply an amazing writer with a gift for world building and magic systems. Very close to a five star book. Just would have liked to known more details about some ancillary crew members and their stories.

I'm so happy I finally read this. It's been on my list for years but I hadn't gotten around to it. And the audio version was fantastic.
Vin is my kind of reluctant hero. Flawed, she (mostly) does the right thing, even when she doesn't want to. I really enjoyed her progression throughout the story. Great character arc. And Kelsier. Oh, Kelsier. So many things I want to say, but I won't for fear of spoiling the story for someone. Let's leave it at I love you and your crazy band of misfits.

He obviously put a lot of thought into this land ruled by ashfalls, where seemingly minute details like what plants can grow actually make you go "Hm, wow, that's actually important," in retrospect. I really like what he did with Allomancy. I thought it was good that he went out of his way to have Kelsier mention how, yes, certain metals would kill you if they're not ...more
