YA dystopian future is the hip genre these days. Like all hip genres, it can get a little overwhelming since everyone seems to want to get on the hip bandwagon. Winnowing out the gems can be daunting, but worth it when the reader finds a book like this.
Not set on Earth like most dystopian novels, RED RISING is set on Mars of the future. The circumstances are very relatable to current times here. Separate color-coded castes of people with the extremely wealthy being the extremely powerful while e ...more

started out listening to the audio and switched to the ebook because it was so confusing with all the caste colors and people. There were parts i really liked, and parts i didn't. There were also a lot of eh parts. Overall i enjoyed it enough to want to read the next book.
