I can't remember the last time a book made me smile so much. I was totally and completely unprepared for it. Once I got into the story of Cather Avery I didn't want it to stop. In fact, I listened to the whole book--11+ hours--in about three days. At first Cath was a bit of a turn off. She really is weird. She wants nothing to do with the outside world. This is my first Rainbow Rowell experience and definitely not my last.

What I really appreciated about this story was how Cather always stayed true to herself while still growing. The pacing was always steady and Cather held to her values regardless of the peer pressure that came from every direction. And Levi, can't help smiling :D Levi has made me think long and hard about why I keep so many smiles to myself.

The fanfic element really was captured so well and I completely loved reading the scene ...more

I won't usually pick up romance novels, but I had to make an exception with this one as the MC spoke to me almost immediately just from reading the blurb. Plus the unusual focus on fan culture and fandom was very intriguing. I had it for a lot of years before I finally got around to reading it but I'm glad I did now. I may not share all of Cath's interests and priorities, but our introverted personalities are so similar I kept on reading.
