What Members Thought

I sort of don't even know if I should be writing this review, since Rainbow Rowell can basically do NO wrong in my eyes ever since Eleanor & Park. In fact, if you are reading this and you haven't read Eleanor & Park, you need to reconsider your life choices immediately. Preferably while driving to the store to buy Eleanor & Park.

First, I really and sincerely enjoyed this author's writing style. It is witty, funny, unique and light-hearted (...am looking forward to reading more of her stuff). The book was an easy, up-beat read. I loved all her references to movies and books. She also does a very good and realistic stream of consciousness for her characters- what Cath is doing vs. what she is thinking. Especially in her make-out scene. She also makes her characters and their experiences very relatable. I liked how realist

I knew I would love this book when I saw the first page. It was like a parody of Wikipedia. I have a weakness for documents in books. If there is a document in a book I'm reading then the chance that I will love it goes up by 40%.
And I did love this book. I really liked Cath. I liked her relationships with Wren, Reagan and Levi. I liked how multi-layered the characters were. I did start to skim over the snippets from the Simon Snow books. I was more interested in Cath's story. Her relationship w ...more

This book brought back so many memories! The characters are so achingly relatable to me, I had such a hard time putting this down! The only negative thing I have to say is the end was sort of anti-climactic to me :/ I expected a few other things to get tidied up and they didn't, so I was left kind of surprised and disappointed :( maybe that's the point though? Or maybe I'm reading into it too much haha It just felt like the timing was off, like there was something missing that I can't quite put

I really did like this book, though I am leaving off a last star because I appreciate what the ending set out to say as "a moral tale of fixation toward growth" but I found it cheap as a woman and a fiction writer. I don't feel like there had to be this growing-up, out-growing, putting off promises to a nameless, faceless population of people for other things in college and boyfriend land. I don't think the promises made to those people are any less or more than the ones you make in real life --

There is so much to love about this book. I love the characters for starters. Cather is a great protagonist that I do identify with. I also love the way the author touches upon fan fiction and just dealing with the world outside of it.
Well written and felt it was a lovely story. I plan on reading more by this author.

Loved. I can't say enough good things about her books, her characters, and specifically in this one her stories within a story. Fanfiction is near and dear to my heart, so this was a fun read.
