An enemies to lovers story set in a world I very much enjoy and starring a stubborn harpy (literally) and a prickly, mysterious half wyr half elf whose buttons she's constantly pushing.

Aryal proves to be a lot more likable than she appeared and her and Quentin together are a very passionate couple. I enjoyed listening to their story and seeing how they overcame their differences after being forced to work together on a mission that brought them closer than either one of them would have imagined. ...more

I love enemies to lovers stories so I enjoyed this one tremendously. I really liked too that their tastes were a bit kinkier than usual in the series - not everybody is the same so I like that different couples are into different things - although I wish that we have gotten to see what happened in the 'one night' exchange. I think Thea Harrison should write a novella and just go all out. :)

The conflict at the heart of the book though was a bit pedestrian and got resolved a bit too q ...more

I just don't like Aryal. Quentin was okay, but nothing to really write home about.

I also don't like that Aryal can be a complete bitch for a year to Pia, two years to Quentin, and then just decide not to be a bitch anymore and there are no consequences. Pia should hate her. Dragos shouldn't like her so much, given how shitty she is to his mate. And the bitchiness is just fucking petty. Pia stole A PENNY. She even left a penny in exchange. It is bizarre to hold on to utter hate over that, ...more
