Audiobook version:
A new favorite romance book! And a new favorite audiobook, too. All due to the narrator. Well, the narrator and the writing. She was SO good at giving voice to Taryn with her sarcastic snipes and Trey with his grrrowls. I kept wishing I was a wolf shifter, latent or not. I obviously read the new and improved ménage-less version. And I'm glad, Trey is definitely not one to share and neither is Taryn. My only gripe regarding Taryn was making her so teeny tiny. I liked it. There was a scene in there that gave me bad Anita Blake flashbacks, but that aside, I liked it. It was cute, fun, and a very fast read.

Finally moving ahead with the series, and wanted to re-read, to refresh on the details. I really do like it, but that scene ... here's hoping that's an aberration in this series, and not something that continues, because ugh, Anita Blake.

I enjoyed some parts of this book but got tired of all the smart ass comments from the heroine - some were really funny but at some point it was just overkill. I also wasn't very convinced with the whole idea of 'the hero doesn't know how to love because his parents weren't demonstrative.' There are lots of way to show love - my parents are very devoted to me and my siblings but they are not gushy at all. This book was hot as hell with a great story full of action that also had me laughing my ass of at times. Taryn was sarcastic as hell and didn't take shit from no one which is my favorite type of heroine. Trey was one sexy as sin, dirty talking, uber-alpha that had a soft cuddly side when you scratched the surface. All the secondary characters were awesome as well. I really couldn't get enough. Light and full of bad words and actions, this is the story of an Alpha pair that get together with agendas and determined to keep their relationship emotion-free, but get more than they bargained for.
