This is a fine book. I missed being in Vlad's head and really would rather have had this as a part of the Night Huntress World series rather than its own spin off so the story was complete but this is a personal preference thing. I have a feeling that this series will get better and better. ...more

I was really excited to read this book. Yes, Vlad is one exciting, tasty vampire before and after my reading experience. Here I am, waiting for that WOW moment, but, I feel like I've been sort of doused with cold water. The sypnosis just sounded so promising until I've actually gotten into it. Yikes. Also, I'm not really fond of Leila's character. She feels kind of empty to me.

Well, it's not too bad to discourage me from reading the incoming second installment. ...more

This spin off book of the Night Huntress World is about Vlad and for me it did not disappoint.

Leila is a human who by a freak accident can channel electricity and learn dark secrets for a single touch. While practicing her routine for her traveling show she is kidnapped and thrown into a plot for revenge from any enemy of Vlad's.

I liked Lelia even though she did some stupid things. I thought she was a strong woman who didn't stop to feel sorry for herself and did the best she could when in stick ...more

Oh how I've missed this world! I'm very happy to back in the Night Huntress World! Vlad was one of my favorite secondary characters...his first book was not a disappointment. It was missing just a bit of the spark of previous books. While Bones will always be my favorite hero of this world, Vlad is a very close second! For her part, Leila is a great compliment to Vlad. She is smart, sassy, and not afraid to stand up to "Dracula." I look forward to seeing how their relationship grows. ...more
