I was severely let down by this series when I read this after months of waiting for its release. I felt that Vlad just wasn't the same character from the Night Huntress series. There was too much doom and gloom. Also there was a lack of ghostly characters that made a huge contribution to the other series. I seemed to miss that from the other series, because I just didn't realize how much I actually enjoyed that aspect.

It's no secret that i'm not a huge fan of Cat & Bones but I absolutely loved the Night Huntress World books, I was hopeful that these would fall into the latter category and I wasn't disappointed!

Vlad and Leila are absolutely perfect for each other, I really enjoyed this part of their journey and I can't wait for the next book. I was really happy when I got to the end and realised it would be an ongoing journey for the pair and not a quick one book HEA.

I was really excited to read this book. Yes, Vlad is one exciting, tasty vampire before and after my reading experience. Here I am, waiting for that WOW moment, but, I feel like I've been sort of doused with cold water. The sypnosis just sounded so promising until I've actually gotten into it. Yikes. Also, I'm not really fond of Leila's character. She feels kind of empty to me.

This spin off book of the Night Huntress World is about Vlad and for me it did not disappoint.

Leila is a human who by a freak accident can channel electricity and learn dark secrets for a single touch. While practicing her routine for her traveling show she is kidnapped and thrown into a plot for revenge from any enemy of Vlad's.

I liked Lelia even though she did some stupid things. I thought she was a strong woman who didn't stop to feel sorry for herself and did the best she could when in stick ...more

Loved Vlad in the Night Huntress Series, and loved him again in this book. Leila I found interesting. She had been through alot, and held herself away from everyone including her family. I enjoyed seeing how she changed the way she looked at what happened to her because of her involvement with Vlad. Loved some of the secondary characters and how they deal with her.
I'm looking forward to her next book. Jeaniene Frost does not disapoint that is for sure. ...more
