The Flooze
With Tricked, Hearne's writing has reached a new level.

Considering the first three books came out in quick succession, it makes sense that they'd share certain writing quirks. This installment is much more natural in terms of character voice and the description of magic.

I finally feel more connected to Atticus, better understanding how he thinks and what his limitations are. Much of this is thanks to him discussing his magic and motivations aloud and getting feedback, rather than being stuck wi

Good start. I like the Morrigan.

I love, love, love the dog.

Best band name ever. Emo douche bags.

I hate that the only woman hasn't been trained to fight, nor has she enough magic. The author could have done anything. He could have made her capable of at least protecting herself. She could have known something from before she started her training. He finally gets a woman who isn't a god or an enemy and she's useless.

Atticus and Oberon are back to their old ways in this novel. I enjoyed it much more than Hammered because of the lighter tone.

There was still a lot of humor, especially between Atticus and Oberon, but I think his involvement in the plot made more sense this time around. I liked the Native American mythology and I like the version of Coyote that these books present. Mr. Hearn

Oh, much better (IMO) than the previous book. While Atticus is still banging from death at ever turn like a drunken blind man in traffic, this book just seemed more 'Atticus'-more true to the character. Oberon was totally hilarious and their settled in relationship was a marked contrast to the getting-to-know-you relationship with Granuille. I was really hoping at one point that she would be Atticus' HEA, but after this book I don't care. Hearne has done such a stellar job with Atticus' relation ...more

Hmm.... this fourth book was a little bit of a let down to me. I'm not sure if it is because they uprooted the setting or if it is the story. Regardless, I still enjoyed the book and it, like the previous ones, left me wondering "What happens next?". That last part I've decided is the mark of a good series. ...more
