I've just closed the cover on Doubleblind, the third Jax novel, and all I can think is: when will enough be enough?
Ambassador Jax finally arrives on Ithiss-Tor to broker an alliance with the Bugs. It's a mission of paramount importance; success could mean the salvation of humanity. At the very least, having the Ithtorians join the Conglomerate will lessen the threat on one of multitudinous hostile fronts. Or so they hope. But how much of herself will Jax have to relinquish to get the job done?

The author has done an amazing job creating Jax and her world, with its various species and their different cultures, behaviors, customs, way of life and everything in between. And yet that story was not my cup of tea.
Perhaps it was just bad timing or perhaps too much politics and diplomacy and descriptions of the bug-like race and their world, or maybe even both, but it was hard for me to get through that book.

Boring. I was 2/3 in and nothing was happening. At all. It was all politics and more politics. Jax was meeting with the Bugs and negotiating and haggling, over and over again. Either that or she was grieving for what she had lost with March. For, like, 60% of this book. Nothing else happened. And when something finally did happen after all this navel gazing, it was so predictable, this obstacle thrown her way. And the twist with Jael at the end? Wow, that was so OOC after everything they had gon
