Almost as entertaining as the first book, with characters just as likable and plot as engaging.

Tricks/aka Niniene and Tiago although opposites, make a good couple that faces difficulties from the beginning and grows closer through them. It was interesting seeing what made Tricks "tick" and find her way to her rightful place with Tiago by her side.

The next book is about two characters we see a bit more in this book, Rune and the Vampyre Queen Carling. Looking forward to reading their story!

Quite good. Not exceptional but entertaining enough.

Thistle Periwinkle or Tricks is actually a long lost princess of the Dark Fae kingdom. She escaped an assassination attempt that killed her whole family by her uncle Urien and work for Cuelebre. After her uncle was killed, she has to step up and take the throne.

On her way to her kingdom, she was attacked by her cousins and was on the run. A concerned Dragos, sent Tiago, a fellow Wyr dragon to found her and save her.

As I said earlier, it was

I started out with high hopes with this one because it has some of my favorite elements for a romance, which is to say a dark, gruff hero and a heroine that is strong, but needs help from her position of advantage. Tiago is a Wyr sentinel who has been assigned to track "Tricks", whatever her name was, and help protect her until she is safely crowned queen of the Dark Fae. While I understand attraction and lust are part of any good romance, here they happened too fast and only served to make me r ...more

Review originally posted on Bitten Books and given 4 stars.

With Urien dead, Niniane (Tricks) can take her place as Dark Fae Queen. This is easier said than done considering her first meeting with the Dark Fae on her own results in an assassination attempt. Niniane can't turn to the Wyr for help anymore so she attempts to disappear. Her friends in the Wyr demesne are worried about her though and want her found at any cost. Tiago is sent to find and protect her, and somewhere along the way he find

I wasn't drawn into this book as much as I was the first book of this series. Things didn't pick up until the last few chapters.
Tricks started out strong. She was funny and I wanted to root for her. But as the book went on, I lost interest in her. Tiago was an alpha male I didn't like. It's one thing to be protective and another to act like an overbearing ass. Bleh! I just couldn't get into him.
I want to finish reading the rest of the series, but if I have to sift through 15 chapters just to ge

I guess the best recommendation that I can give this series is that I trust the author enough to keep buying without sampling first. Also, I have been out of the PNR realm for years and these are dragging me back in.
