Okay, I'm going to say just how much I liked this book, but first I've go to go into what keeps this book (and series) from being 100% for me. It's the skeevy feeling that always seems to accompany any of Moning's male characters. Whether it be the blatantly obvious death-by-sex fae V'lane (ugh, I don't like that name either) to the massively testosterone-laden Barrons who goes from faintly intimidating to absolutely freaking ridiculous in the span of a few moments. Moning has the ability to ram

ah what a kicker.
I'm beginning to like these cliffhangers less and less.
I am walking away from this series just for that.
sure the story is fine, characters frustrating you just want to tell them what they should be doing.
I'm going through an emotional time in my life right now. and this series is not helping matters.
I might try to read the next one next week....I might be feeling better then.
but for now I am taking a break. ...more

I liked this installment much better than the previous two. I still don't have a lot of love for Mac and Barrons but I do feel sorry for Mac in this book because of the ending. I appreciated that she and Barrons were both actively trying to help prevent the walls from falling, but I still think they should be doing more. Most days it seems like Mac just works in the bookstore, instead of really going out and progressing the storyline. I like that she is finally trying to diversify her allies, bu

Another FINISHED urban fantasy and it is a good one. I am in the 3rd book only, but I knew from the first paragraph of the first book this one would keep me up at night (reading). Well written, well developed, intriguing characters who, despite Moning's "romances with Highlanders" books and the cover design which has nothing to do with the book, do NOT jump into bed with everyone. In fact, the sexual tension and doubt as to whether it will occur at all, are mounting with each chapter, just like a
