Um...I honestly don't know what to say about this one.

The big bad Tate has reappeared and causes a ruckus in Chicagoland. Mallory has to deal with the aftermath of her decisions. Ethan and Merit have more relationship drama.

I'm tired of Ethan and Merit. Now that Ethan's back, you'd think they would both be more than happy to resume their relationship but no, not even close. Without getting into details, the issue they deal with for half this book is exactly the same as a past issue. P ...more

After the ups and downs we've had with this series, I have to say this was the book with the least amount of surprises! Biting Cold picks up exactly where Drink Deep left off, with Ethan and Merit in a car heading to the midwest looking for Mallory. Their mission was just to stop her from getting the Maleficium, the book that would unleash all evil.

But quickly the story turned more complicated and the Maleficium issue was solved a bit too fast, but in a ...more

BTW, spoilers for previous books in the series...

So Ethan is back and he and Merit are chasing Mallory in Nebraska. I couldn't believe Ethan came up with another excuse, poor Merit. I like the characters and was happy to see that (view spoiler). I looking forward to seeing what changes the decision at the end lead to, it should be pretty interesting. ...more

I believe I will take my leave now, as they say, while the going is good, and leave Chicago's vampires while I don't feel an urge to kill all the characters in the series (except for Gabe and Chuck, oh and Jeff) but mostly before Ethan misplaces his balls again and changes his mind about Merit, again.

I will thank this book with three stars for giving me some sort or closure to this entire endevour and bid you adieu.
