This series is just not my cup of tea. While I enjoy the inclusion of a myriad of different mythologies, I just can't warm up to Atticus, the oh so powerful druid, who outshines gods from all pantheons, witches and demons and whatever else is thrown at him. I don't like the way he talks about other people as it is often rude and prejudiced and I don't quite understand the way he treats people, especially police officers, who only do their job. I know those little episodes are supposed to be funn ...more

This was more fun than I remember the first one being.

Atticus has some demon cleanup left from the last adventure and gets pulled into the witches' problem with another coven. The characters are interesting and Oberon is the greatest. A few gods stop by for a visit. Not super fond of the casual sex (view spoiler)

I really enjoy this series. Atticus is quickly becoming one of my favorite characters. Oberon cracks me up and makes me wish I had a mind meld thing going on with my cats....or maybe not. The references to Leif as a blood sucker (lawyer) and vampire don't get old. Atticus helps Coyote fight a fallen angel, disbands a group of Bacchants and leads the local coven into battle with an evil coven of German witches. Toss in a possible lust triangle with a couple of Celtic goddesses and you have a wond ...more

3.5 stars.

I'm of two minds about this book. I love Oberon, he's the best thing about this series so far. LOL. Atticus' relationship with the widow and williness to put himself between humans and danger are both points in his favor. However, his black-and-white view of the witches seems unreasonable. Maybe, we don't have enought backstory yet, but still... Overall some of the secondary characters are given short shrift and come across as one-dimensional. I will still be reading book 3, to look in

More urban fantasy fun from the Iron Druid Chronicles. Like Hounded, Hexed is full of action and humor. Oberon continues to be a great doggie character and I wish there had been more of him in this book (although I was happy he was out of harms way for most of it - I always worry about the dog). The role of the witches in this world gets more fleshed out as Atticus works with a local coven against an influx of "evil" witches. Gods and Goddesses from various pantheons make appearances and one thi ...more

More laughing out loud. Now I want to go to Tempe to find out if parts of it really look like Mos Eisley. I didn't enjoy this as much as the fabulous first book; the first half was good, but there wasn't enough Oberon. He is fabulous, and on the audiobook his voice sounds like Steve from Sex and the City, lol. The witches and the goddesses got a bit annoying - I did enjoy the reference to the witches looking like The Go-gos, though - but I quite like Leif the vampire lawyer and all his attempts ...more

An excellent book and interesting continuation of Atticus's adventures. Living in Gilbert and going to the Tempe campus of ASU, I love being able to know generally where events are happening. It was sad to see some characters go, but the story overall was very interesting to read. ...more
