What Members Thought

I jinxed myself. I read the first 5 pages and thought I might actually like it after procrastinating over the decision of: to read, or not to read? I blame myself for settling on the former, as many have compared it to Jim Butcher's writing. Me and that dude do not get on. We are chalk and cheese.

The humour is unfunny; it's forced. The info-dump is off-putting; too much, too fast. Dialogue-overload. Not enough description.

Atticus claims to be 2,100 or just 21 to humans. He lies to everyone but

★★★★½ (This is a review of the audiobook.) I’ve never read anything by Kevin Hearne before, and I’ve never listened to Luke Daniels narrate, either. But I definitely will again! So glad I chose to listen to this one, as the pronunciation of Druid and other ancient dialects would have totally tongue-tied my mind. Funny! Oh my gods this is just so funny! I enjoy Hearne's story telling type of style. It's direct, descriptive, and overall fun.
I'll definitely be looking for the rest in the series now.

Pretty average. High point is that it is a male pov, and the story feels a lot like a dragon lance charicter, except uf.

Nice, good action pace, average plot...i will pick up the next in the series.

I liked this book. It's urban fantasy and I admit to liking some of the geek references (Star Wars, Monty Python) It was interesting to read about the Druid, the Fae and all of the other characters in this story. I really liked Oberon the dog and his relationship with the protaganist Atticus. I liked it enough to continue reading the second in the series. We'll see what happens after that. ...more
