What Members Thought

Re-read March 2017 - I really just adore these books. And this one was so great. Samuel... aww, my heart breaks. And Adam too - I just love him, and it is good to see that he's got a vulnerable core inside that steel exterior.
And Bran, because Bran. The little glimpses, where you can see just how much he loves them, even though he can't afford to let it show... my heart breaks for Bran most of all. Yes, he's ruthless, but it is to keep everyone safe. How cold it must be, to have to be him, with ...more

Second time reading this, and honest to gods, I don't remember half of it. Some bits I did remember, but I completely had forgotten what the plot was about in this book.

I love Briggs' stories and this was no exception. Dealt with issues of Mercy joining the pack and having to deal with her being different and not being totally accepted. You got a better sense of Adam and Mercy's relationship. Dealt with Sam and his discontent for his life. I think Mercy's relationship with Adam kind of sent him over the edge. Also, had the issue of the Silver Borne which brought Mercy into trouble with a Fae being. Very fun read and kept my nose in the book until I finished. Ho

I'm not quite sure what I thought about this one.
Love the fact Mercy and Adam were a couple, but did they have to bash us over the head with that fact.
I liked the Samuel/Sam part of the story more than the whole faery thing not that I hated it but I don't know I just didn't find it as intense as the earlier books. Maybe PB is trying to give them a bit of break after everything that they have been through.

I truly enjoyed this book. Mercy is having trouble with the Fae again (though only some of them, not all). She's struggling to overcome her anxiety from an earlier attack and she's trying to help her friend find himself before it is too late. I think I avoided giving anything away? I think that the only reason that I didn't give this book 5 stars is because it seemed to focus more on her relationship with Samuel and with Adam than with the 'mystery' behind the book and the abduction of two 'cast
