What Members Thought

Re-read March 2017 - I really just adore these books. And this one was so great. Samuel... aww, my heart breaks. And Adam too - I just love him, and it is good to see that he's got a vulnerable core inside that steel exterior.
And Bran, because Bran. The little glimpses, where you can see just how much he loves them, even though he can't afford to let it show... my heart breaks for Bran most of all. Yes, he's ruthless, but it is to keep everyone safe. How cold it must be, to have to be him, with ...more

I thoroughly enjoyed this addition to the Mercy Thompson series - I enjoyed seeing where her relationship with Adam and the rest of the pack is going, as well as the interesting turns in Samuel's life. The danger/villain part of the story is enough to keep you guessing, but the way all the characters relate to each other and work together (or not) is what really made this book for me.

I truly enjoyed this book. Mercy is having trouble with the Fae again (though only some of them, not all). She's struggling to overcome her anxiety from an earlier attack and she's trying to help her friend find himself before it is too late. I think I avoided giving anything away? I think that the only reason that I didn't give this book 5 stars is because it seemed to focus more on her relationship with Samuel and with Adam than with the 'mystery' behind the book and the abduction of two 'cast

What I loved the most about Silver Borne is the growth as we circle back to the pack, and the relationships and conflicts that had taken a backseat to the action. I loved seeing Mercy stand up to the choices she has made and take her place in the pack.
There is still enough plot action as Mercy matches wits with a Faerie Queen, but even there it is the emotional scenes that take priority.
It actually felt like a lot of things were wrapped up or concluded in this book so it will be interesting to ...more

The best in the series so far but there were still parts of the book that didn't sit so well with me.

I liked this installment much better than the last book. Sam the wolf was a great addition to the cast of characters and I loved learning about the world of the werewolves. Ben is fast becoming a favorite, along with Warren and Kyle. I'm happy that Sam was given a love interest and it wasn't someone new that he magically falls in love with, but someone from his past. That small detail saved his storyline from being too contrived. Plus, no more semi-triangle and ambiguous feelings detracting from
