I had heard a lot of recommendations for this series, and I was worried that I would be disappointed by my high expectations. Happily, I wasn't. It's a fun, fast read with characters I was happy to follow. The plot... eh. It was a little convoluted, and when the big reveal happened, I actually had to go back and re-read those few pages, because my reaction was "...what?" Maybe a touch anti-climactic. But that honestly didn't impact my enjoyment of the book, because this is one of those books you ...more

This was a fantastic read on my part. Briggs thought of a very interesting perspective. I loved the idea of a walker. An entire magic that has been unexplored or simply overlooked. I would like to say that I would like more Native American fiction, and venturing into even more myths and legends.
I like how Mercy takes no crap from anyone, and her level of sneakiness. For some reason I just keep coming back to this series every few years. I've read this book three times now, and it looks like I ju

Already a huge fan of this series, I eagerly devoured the audiobook. Lorelei King did a wonderful job of bringing Mercy, Adam, Samuel and all the rest to life. I eagerly await the release of the next books in the series.

I'm not sure where to begin with this review. Maybe I was expecting too much from the book since there were so many great reviews and lots of glowing recommendations, but the book just didn't make me want to sing its praises. I didn't hate it, I didn't love it. Mercy is a shape shifter - she can easily turn herself into a coyote at will. She was raised by a pack of werewolves who seem to keep her at arms' length (at least all the women do). Mercy is a generous person, wanting to help others and ...more

This is my first book by Patricia Briggs and I am sorry I waited so long to read her books! I will definitely be reading more of her books especially in this series. I enjoyed Mercy, Adam, Samuel, Jesse, Warren and Zee.

I have read other books and series with super natural creatures but this is the first where werewolves were the main characters. They are very entertaining and sexy at the same time. It was fun reading about male werewolves and how territorial they can be just like their human cou

Love it!! So much better than I was expecting it to be - I'm sorry I ended up putting it off so long. Last time I went to the bookstore I picked up a bunch of book 1s from series I wanted to check out and vowed I wouldn't decide on which series to get into next until I was done with all of them. Its gonna be hard with this one because I want to know what happens next :)!! ...more
