What Members Thought

I have been finding it hard to sit down and write a review for this book. I gave it 4 stars, so I did like it, so that can’t be a problem. I think it’s because I read it while on vacation and my brain was not in review mode.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked Mercy. I liked that she was not a werewolf, but instead a skin walker that shifts into a coyote. Mercy is the only one of her kind and this seems to give her a special status with the werewolves.

OMG!! And I never ever use OMG. But, OMG! I loved this book so much. I can't even pin point what it is that got to me to that extent I just know that for some reason, this book just made me happy. How cool is that!

I love this book. Mercy is a great heroine. She knows her limitations, but will occasionally go beyond them to help someone she cares about. She has a bit of a smart mouth and that will sometimes get her into trouble. She has interesting relationships with werewolves, fae and vampires. She seems like someone who would be cool to hang out with.
The series stays amazing.

I didn't realize he was a werewolf at first.
I originally read this in 2010 and did not review it at the time. As I continued with the series I forgot bits and pieces of the early book. I am so happy to be doing a series read along even though I rarely re-read books.
Mercedes "Mercy" Thompson is an auto mechanic specializing in German cars, particularly VWs. She also happens to be a skinwalker that was raised by werewolves. She currently lives within site of the local alpha's home. A vantage point ...more

Re-read this and thought it was awesome. Maybe this is why people re-read books! Gets better each time :)
I love Mercy - she's tough, sarcastic, smart, but not infallible. There's a lot of wit and humor in the book. I didn't find any of the characters annoying. Great story, well explained world-building. Second time around, 5 stars!

I had been avoiding this book for a long time. Don't know why other then normally when everyone agrees something is awesome, it usually is way over hyped and disappointing. How glad I am to be wrong! :)
The main character in this novel, Mercy, is a wonderful fresh voice. I loved the play on dominance and submission within the novel as a part of the were hierarchy, which actually for some reason made the characters more real. I really liked this book. I've always been a fan of Patricia Briggs' writing style. My only complaint with this book was that the wide array of minor characters made keeping all the characters straight difficult sometimes. Otherwise, I enjoyed the action scenes and plot twists. Her stories arent' usually romantic enough for my tastes but they are interesting enough to keep me hooked.

After a slightly slow start (it took me about 30 pages to get into it), Moon Called was a great story. I really liked Mercy as a character, she wasn't simpering or so strong-willed that she wouldn't listen. I loved all the different characters and the world Briggs has created. Zee was one of my favorites! The only flaw (for me) was there wasn't more of a romance. I can't wait to see who Mercy chooses, as I really like both Sam and Adam!
