I have been finding it hard to sit down and write a review for this book. I gave it 4 stars, so I did like it, so that can’t be a problem. I think it’s because I read it while on vacation and my brain was not in review mode.

I really enjoyed this book. I liked Mercy. I liked that she was not a werewolf, but instead a skin walker that shifts into a coyote. Mercy is the only one of her kind and this seems to give her a special status with the werewolves.

OMG!! And I never ever use OMG. But, OMG! I loved this book so much. I can't even pin point what it is that got to me to that extent I just know that for some reason, this book just made me happy. How cool is that!

I had been avoiding this book for a long time. Don't know why other then normally when everyone agrees something is awesome, it usually is way over hyped and disappointing. How glad I am to be wrong! :)

The main character in this novel, Mercy, is a wonderful fresh voice. I loved the play on dominance and submission within the novel as a part of the were hierarchy, which actually for some reason made the characters more real. I discovered that I'd never finished this series so I'm rereading the series from the beginning.

Reread 2022 - 2.5 stars

A lot can happen in 12 years and taste as well as preference change sometimes. I still like Mercy but I cannot stop comparing the story to other books I have read and I feel we get a lot of telling not showing and information clusters that I could have done without.
