First of all, I can't quite believe this comes from the same author that wrote The Immortal Rules. Kagawa has certainly made progress in developing her talent. There's no question that she comes up with great ideas but The Iron King shows she wasn't always great at executing them.

I expected to jump into this book with both feet and take off running, after all I've heard such great things about it. But it took until almost half way through to get enthralled with the world of the fae kingdoms and start to worry about the protagonist Meghan Chase. But when I did I was reluctant to let the story go, long enough to hunt for the next book in the series. It's not the two guys, one girl issue, though that's a nice element, but instead it's Meghan's coming of age story in a world

I liked it, in a Percy Jackson kind of way. It's engaging enough to continue on with the series just to see where it goes.
