Update 8/22/14 - Dead Witch Walking is available for free download on Kindle, Kobo, and B&N.

Review - March 2010
Rachel Morgan is a witch. She has quit her job with the IS to strike out on her own with her vampire friend Ivy. The IS does not like people who quit and they put out an assassination order on Rachel. Rachel is then pursued by all sorts of supernatural beings.

This book hooked me from the beginning. Rachel was apprehending a leprechaun and the dialogue was hilarious. The characters that

I like these types of stories with a lot of action and an “investigator” touch to it.

The world is a place where all the supernatural being has “come out” and humans knows they exist and I think Kim Harrison does a great job of portraying the different species and the suspicion and distrust they have for each other when they don’t understand each other.
I love how Rachel Morgan just keeps on going even when things look bad she never gives up she has a tendency to be kind of whiny through much of t

This book is a 3.5. Don’t know why but couldn’t get into it..like into it in the beginning. I know -- most of the UF starting of a little slow but eventually will get better. -- But this one took me a longggg time. I think I was hovering above it and not really into it until the part -- when she went to Trent’s and got caught as a mink.
I hope that Rachel’s character would develop into something more substantial. She’s given me --kinda like-- a loser vibe in this book. I loved Jenks, the hot pix

Pretty good first book in a first, I liked the characters, especially Rachel and Jenks, he was the best!
Ivy... she was kind of... akward, maybe I didn't get her or I'll understand her better as her story develops.
The bad guys were baaaad, Trent was a scary SOB and can't wait to see what happens with him later on.
I do think the story lacked a hot guy, Nick's ok but not alpha enough for me... maybe later on..

Quirky, entertaining, and action packed filled with equal parts humor and adventure. The world of the Hollow and characters are well developed with a wide range of periphreal characters that are again very three deminsional. The lore of the Hollows in engrossing, from the history of witches and demons to the diversity of vampires. Highly entertaining!

This book was kinda hard to follow at first, but once I got into it I enjoyed it. I wish the romance was a little better though.
