What Members Thought

God, I love Kim Harrison and this series so freaking much. It is seriously one of my favourite series out there. Rachel is maddening at times but I love her as a character, I love the fact that she is struggling with the sudden grey of her life when she thought everything was black and white and this book shows that even more. There were many, many times when I just wished I could have smacked her upside the head as she's just so blind and distrustful of everyone. Granted she has good reason for

There is no need to review this book. If you read the series, you *are going to read Pale Demon and you won't be swayed by anyone's opinion, so I'm just gonna tell you how it made me feel. One word...emotion-a-polooza! The reason I love this series is the connection I have with these characters. I have watched them live, love, die, grow and screw the f**k up. This book let us see into the hearts of some of the characters that have been closed to us. I can sort of see where Kim Harrison is going

Things were already tense for Rachel Morgan at the end of Black Magic Sanction (The Hollows #8). Now she’s got the chance to be absolved for using black magic. All she has to do is get to California in one piece and hope that the necessary people keep their words. Things are never that easy, though, and the Coven would really like it if she just didn’t make it.
She sure can’t get through security at the airport, so the only option is to take ...more

Rachel has done a lot of growing up and it really shows in this book. She's thinking about how her actions will affect others, taking consequences into consideration before making really tough decisions. Most of all she's finally beginning to see the value of using demon magic instead of letting it use her. Things outside of her control still happen, but instead of complaining or reacting in anger, Rachel handles the situation to the best of her abilities. Once events started happening, the acti

I have to say this is probably my favorite of the series. I haven't been a fan of Ivy & Rachel in the past but I found their big scenes in this one to be very emotional. So much is revealed about Trent, Rachel and the demons (most importantly the demonesses). It did start out a little slow but once the revelations stated coming, and the plot really picked up, it kept the pace up until the end. It's hard to say a series reaches a turning point after 9 books but for me the end of this one definite

OMG. Ok so what I was hoping to happen in this book didn't happen....but it totally set it up for the next one!!!! I almost wish I had discovered this series after it was complete so I can read everything in 1 week, instead of zipping thru books in a day and having to wait a year for the next one. But it's totally worth it!!
Get Pale Demon, and get the next one too! ...more

Welcome back Rachel Mariana Morgan!!!! After a disappointing 'Black Magic Sanction', I did not have high hopes for 'Pale Demon'. I am glad I stuck with it because this is the best Rachel Morgan book ever! I'm stil in shock that Harrison was able to pull me back in. So if you were about to quit the series, please read this book before you make that decision.
