What Members Thought

This review was originally posted at Vampire Book Club.
Shadowfever is intense. It’s not just that the stakes are high in this final book in the Fever series — Mac’s trying to save the world. And it’s not just many of the character’s all-or-nothing outlook. Each chapter of Shadowfever ratchets up the stakes. Just when you think you have an answer and something starts to go our way, it gets worse. There is nary a moment when readers will not be gripping the book thinking either “no way,” “oh my Go ...more

I had good feeling when I finished this book. Overwhelmed a little, but mostly good feelings. Going into this book there were so many unknowns it is a wonder KMM answered as many as she did - there are still some questions left on the table though. I guess for another day. I think she could have spread a few of those answers out. It felt like an 'answer to all of your questions' dump there at the end with everyone spilling their guts (some falsely, but spilling their history none the less). The

O!M!G! From the emotionally wrenching opening chapters to the emotionally satisfying ending, Monning delivered one fantastic tale. Were there a few annoying breaks from first person perspective? Yes, but I don't care. Were there a couple questions introduced in the series that were left unanswered or at least weren't fully answered? Yes, but I still don't care. Were there a few times I wanted to smack Mac upside the head for reacting emotionally and protecting her heart instead of taking a momen

I feel guilty for not giving it 5 stars. I should not feel guilty just because I feel like I'm the only person not to whole-heartedly love this book. It just ran a little long, and I kept looking at the % complete and thinking to myself, that's it? But that's the only not positive thing I have to say.
"Why does it always take so long for you to tell me the important things?!"
That line pretty much sums up my feelings. There were...SO...MANY...jaw-dropping moments in this book. Everytime you think ...more

Phew! I read books 2 to 5 in less than 24 hours, and I'm thankful I waited to read the series till I had all the books! I hate cliffhanger endings! I was right about who Mac killed in Dreamfever, but still had a major WTF moment when it was confirmed.. I had predicted a whole lot of things, trying to guess at who/what Mac and Barrons were, but was only 5% right, lol... I really hope KMM will write more books that will wrap up a lot of details and give us more of some characters' stories (I'm nam

A wild ride. An emotional roller coaster. The plot twists, turns, dips, climbs, and plunges were masterfully engineered. Yes, the ending satisfied, but this novel -nay, this series- is all about the journey, not the destination.
A fulfilling read. ...more

This was by far the best of the books. Almost hated to see it end. This one had me guessing and changing my mind as to who MacKayla was.
