What Members Thought

**3 stars for parts I & II/ 5 stars for parts III-V**
Great end to the series, full of great twists and surprises. My only complaint is that I wish it had had tighter editing, especially in parts I and II.
Now, I understand that drowning the reader with information is Ms. Moning’s special style of red herrings (very 21st century.) Like a good mystery writer, she gave enough clues about the important questions that (theoretically) we could have figured it out on our own. But by making expert use of ...more

The Fever series has been an exceedingly frustrating ride. I can’t say Shadowfever exorcised my irritation with the author’s choices, but I will admit this: the final book was satisfying in ways I didn’t think possible.
As made clear through my myriad rants, Moning’s choice of lead was a poor one. Sure, taking a small town girl and plopping her into the middle of a Fae conflict is a great way of introducing readers to a strange new world. Unfortunately, Ms. Lane is a character I could not connec ...more

Ok, so I did love this one. I won't say that I loved this series as a whole because I thought some of the first books were pretty weak, but this particular installment had everything I love in a UF. I finally believed that Mac and Barrons were good together, but I was sad about what happened with Dani. I am now looking forward to the Fever world novels. :)

There is something about this series, I'll give it that much. Practically everyone I like to exchange opinions about books with on this site has read them and loved it. Me, well not so much. I decided to finish it after having already checked it out from the library once and giving up. This time I was able to finish it, but it wasn't anything life-changing in reading for me. I may try her spin-off series with Dani, but I probably won't continue with this series (unless once again everyone is sin

YUM YUM YUM!! When I started this first book in this series I thought "This is alright, I guess I'll continue" The last book in this series is amazing!! I didn't know how the series was going to be able to wrap up, it had so many loose ends in the previous book. Shadowfever tied up all the loose ends and questions that we had from previous books but it did leave me with other questions. Half way through the book I was feeling edgy because I didn't think that it would be possible to end the book
