Am I the only one that found this book kind of boring? Yes it had action and political intrigue and whiney sappy romance (sort of... more whining though) BUT it still seemed like a snooze (and eye-rolling) fest.

I think we all knew that Dimitri was coming back. No surprise there. him playing the "I'm staying away from you for your own good" was ridiculous yet unsur ...more

I just finished the book and it was really good especially from middle to end I couldn't put it down! I was an emotional mess though! In the beginning of the book Rose completes school an passes her field exam with the highest marks (of course!) her mind is always on Dimitri and he has continued sending her notes about how he will be there as soon as she leaves the safety of the schools wards, she finally realizes that now it's time for the real world no more school. She stil **spoiler alert!**.

I just finished the book and it was really good especially from middle to end I couldn't put it down! I was an emotional mess though! In the beginning of the book Rose completes school an passes her field exam with the highest marks (of course!) her mind is always on Dimitri and he has continued sending her notes about how he will be there as soon as she leaves the safety of the schools wards, she finally realizes that now it's time for the real world no more school. She still doesn't know if she will be Lissas guardian or not. She devises a plan with Lissa and her old friend and fellow guardian Eddie, who says yes to always be her friend and have her back even though he doesn't know the whole story of what they are sneaking off to do. She found out which prison Victor Dashcov is currently being held at in Alaska and soon the three of them are off to free him from jail so they can then find his brother and finally learn the secret of how to bring back a strigoi from the dead. Sounds do easy, huh? The three manage to get Victor sprung and head to las Vegas which is where Victor says they can find Robert who is also another spirit user. By this time Adrian has tracked them down and is a little ticked that Rose lied to him about a "girls weekend" when he findx out the truth about why they are there. They all sit down in the Luxor and listen to Roberts tale of bringing a strigoi back, I won't give away too much info about that but the get up to go to one of the rooms for more privacy and are cornered in the casino by strigoi, and Dimitri is one of them. They escape and Dimitri is still alive thanks to rose knocking Eddie out of the way from staking him, Eddie of course is enraged by this and learns that rose wasn't just Dimitris student she loves him and wants to save him. They catch up with Lissa and Adrian at another casino where they managed to escape to and of course Victor and Robert are no where to be seen. They are in Pennsylvania now at the royal court and rose is stuck doing landscaping and filing work as punishment for taking off with Lissa.

Eventually lissa, Christian and their guardians are surrounded by strigoi with Dimitri the master mind and kidnapped being used as bait for rose. Lissa has been training with Christian to stake a strigoi to save Dimitri since it is a spirit user who has to do it with the charmed stake. Lissa manages with Christians use of fir to stake Dimitri and what do you know it works but it's not the happy reunion I was so longing for, after they take him to jail under the court to make sure he isn't a danger any longer he refuses to see rose and will only see lissa professing his devotion for her saving him even though she tells him it was all rose all she did was charm the stake and stick it in his chest he will hear none if it in the mean time rose us frantic wanting to comfort and reunite with him. When she finally does get to see him he days that he feels too terrible for the horrible things he did to her and that he can no longer love because of what he was and did in those four months as a strigoi. I was heart broken every time they talked he was so cold to her, I know why he's doing it but It was sooo frustrating!!! Twards the end of the book we are left with rose getting ready to stand trial for a shocking crime, and who is her "attorney" defending her but her dear old dad! We are left with who did it and why and will rose and dimitri finally have the happy ending we so desperately want? I guess we'll find out in December?!!!! ...more

3.5/5 stars. So, I certainly didn't hate this book in the Vampire Academy series. However, for me, it left me feeling unsatisified. I had so much anticipation based on the ending of book 4 in the series. I loved the opening of this book with another letter from Dmitri to Rose to recap what happened in the previous book.

Yet, I was left feeling like it was tied up too neatly with parts. I also felt like the author focused on some plot lines that I thought were less interesting than others, so I ke ...more

Wow,
One thing you can count on from Richelle Mead's books, is that each one comes with major plot developments that progresses the overall storyline. Readers of the Vampire Academy series already know that a huge twists could be around any corner, and Spirit Bound is no exception. The writing is terrific, with lots of action, emotional relationships. Richelle Mead does not disappoint....can't wait for the next installment.....
