Fortune's Pawn by Rachel Bach (aka Rachel Aaron) was a pretty damn awesome read! I've seen it described as "Kate Daniels in space" and I can get behind that description, but I would say this is perfect for anyone that loved the Sirantha Jax series as well. Wow, I haven't been reading much sci-fi lately, but this was excellent! If you like tough, sassy heroines, romance, great world and species building, a mystery, intriguing aliens and violent fight scenes, this is definitely the book for you!

I read this book to satisfy a hard sci-fi challenge, but I am reading the next book as soon as I can get it from the library. Thank you GoodReads readers for rating it so high that I picked it for my challenge.

This is a tough one to review.

I loved it - I didn't put it down at all yesterday - but at the same time I'm angry.
