I enjoy the humor in this series. Charley is snarky, sarcastic and seemingly irreverent about everything and everyone. As the Grim Reaper, she bears a tremendous responsibility and sees the worst the world has to offer in the victims she assists. Instead of allowing this to weigh her down, she cracks jokes as a defense mechanism and practically dares the universe (and the Gods) to try and bring her down. Shelves: urban-fantasy, audiobook

I enjoyed it more until the end. I think they were suddenly dunked in stupid or something. It made no sense, but I guess it left a cliffhanger so...OK. I like the characters and hanging out with the gang. I'm not a fan of Reyes & Charley's relationship so there was more of them not talking to each other and hiding things. I thought they talked and weren't going to do that anymore but here we are. It's starting to remind me of the Stephanie Plum books and not in a good way. Those characters never ...more
