This is one of those stay-up-until-3-am books that you just can't put down.
Everything- the worldbuilding, the magic, the characters -was so interesting. I'm going to be really sad when I finish this series.
I can't say good enough things about the worldbuilding here. I didn't expect everything to be so fleshed-out, but not only were the different species unique and interesting, but they all had their own distinct cultures and customs. I'm very excited to read more about a few of the characters ...more

Compared to Clean Sweep this was quite the disappointment. It felt more fantasy and sci-fi than urban fantasy. The story dragged and I just wasn't as engaged. I never watched Game of Thrones and with all the titles and names and creatures and all warring and bickering and posturing about Nexus this just felt like a less violent, sexless version of that. I can't tell you how happy I was to see George, Jack, Gaston, and Sophie from the Edge series again! I missed them so much!! I wasn't really surprised by what they had become as adults because I think it was the natural progression from where we left them in Steel's Edge. I was surprised that (view spoiler) and I have to wonder what happened to the rest of the Mars. I really wasn't mad at George for being so (view spoiler)
