4.5 stars. I was procrastinating about starting this one. I'm not sure why. I should have realised these authors don't let you down. I love the whole Innkeeper mythos and I want more... Where are her parents??? ...more

A man walked into a darkened room, moving on silent feet.

Arbitrator George Camarine approaches Dina about using the Gertrude Hunt for a peace summit after all other intergalactic bed and breakfasts declined. I love this series and I really, really want to be an Innkeeper.

This series just keeps getting better and it added in characters from The Edge (now I need to re-read).

What I enjoyed:
* The premise. Innkeepers and Inns are awesome!
* The arbitration plot. George is very devious and it was very interesting seeing it all play out.
* Plenty of time was given to the three factions so you could learn more about them. The merchants are very intriguing.
* The addition of the dramatic chef was good.

I've been wanting to check this new series out because I love all things Ilona Andrews. I have't read book one, Clean Sweep, yet (will be fixing that very soon) but it isn't necessary to enjoy Sweep in Peace. And what a freaking clever title that is once I discovered what the story was about. Oh yeah, I went in completely in the dark about the story...blurb? I don't need no stinking blurb!

Ilona Andrews has written urban fantasy and PNR but the Innkeeper Chronicles is science fiction fantasy. Th

I really loved this one but it ended up being a little darker than I was anticipating. Dina, Beast and the Gertrude Hunt Inn are back and hosting a peace negotiation. George & Jack from The Edge series are involved and kids who grew up with the darkness they did, it's not all resolved into puppies and rainbows now that they're adults. There are still amusing parts but the overall tone is more somber, especially as the negotiations drag on.

It starts with some fun stuff, Arland and the vampires ar

I can't tell you how happy I was to see George, Jack, Gaston, and Sophie from the Edge series again! I missed them so much!! I wasn't really surprised by what they had become as adults because I think it was the natural progression from where we left them in Steel's Edge. I was surprised that (view spoiler) and I have to wonder what happened to the rest of the Mars. I really wasn't mad at George for being so (view spoiler) ...more

Once again the Ilona Andrews duo pulls off an amazing book. I love Dina and Sean. I hope there's a third book to read. ...more
