Re-Read March 2021: Upping my rating to 4.5 stars because it made me cry. This story was so full of pain and desolation. Nobody went by unscathed.

My feelings on George are not hateful as in the original review. I'm really sad that the sweet boy we knew has become a manipulative fucker that you shouldn't trust under any circumstances but his ultimate goal was worthy. HOWEVER, his willingness to trample on people to achieve his means is not something that I'll ever get behind because who's to say ...more

I had a day to myself today, and chose to read this next book in Ilona Andrews' series The Innkeeper Chronicles, which was written as an online serial on the authors' website. The story continues the adventures of Dina Demille, the young Innkeeper of the Gertrude Hunt Inn, as, desperate for paying guests to help sustain the energy that Gertrude needs, she contracts for an intergalactic Peace Accord to be arbitrated at the Inn. I loved Sweep in Peace; point blank, it is probably one of my favorite books that the Andrews duo has written. Warning: maximum amounts of gushing ahead!

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, Clean Sweep , so I was excited to buy this one as soon as it came out. Unfortunately, the holiday rush took hold and I wasn't able to get to Sweep in Peace until after the first of the year. It was definitely worth the wait, as I ...more

Dina's adventures continue and this time she has to mediate between three different warring species for the peace summit she's hosting at her inn.

It's her first time hosting such a big number of guests on her own, and that alone would present a host of challenges, including finding a chef at the last moment, but things are exponentially worse since the three parties must be kept apart to avoid bloodshed.

Way to much description of clothing and decor. The latter at least makes sense given it’s an inn but really. And all the clothes are embroidered.

These are the same names as the last book of hers that takes place in the Edge: Jack, Gaston, etc. there really are more names...

Why is all the elaborate food cooked by an alien chef from Earth but he doesn’t know what a mango is?

The love interest doesn’t even appear until the last seventh.
