I always enjoy revisiting the world of Mercedes Athena Thompson Hauptman! I read this over the Easter break and really enjoyed it. Mercy and Adam are still #relationshipgoals for me. Trying to not get too spoilery in the details but I'm happy with what Adam finally did in terms of the pack and their interactions with Mercy. I definitely want to get some insight into Bran's thinking (hopefully in the next Charles/Anna book?) and I'd really love for there to be a scene between him and Mercy. Now I ...more

This felt more like I expect a Mercy Thompson book to be.

Mercy & Adam together, the pack being a pain but there, and then there was the troll! The troll on the bridge ...... eating people and playing with the cars.

The Gray Lords of the Fae, some of them at least, want something and they start by using the Troll.

Whilst Mercy & the pack take out the Troll, Zee, Tad & another turn up. Aiden, looks like a 10 yr old kid but is in fact a Changeling (in the Fae sense) and he has become Fire Touched.
