Somewhere along the way, King' s writing took a surreal turn. Her latest is more realistic than I Crawl Through It, more in the vein of Glory O'Brien. I don't really know how I feel about this book. I read it almost in one day, so was engaged and intrigued, but I never connected to any of the characters. I got frustrated and annoyed with Sarah continuously saying nothing is original, nothing ever happens and taking so long to open up about what happened in art club. (view spoiler)

Sarah has lost the ability to draw and the desire to attend school. Two big events in her life have made this happen. One event at school involving her art project and the other at home...over a long period of time.....coming to a head in Mexico...but she doesn't remember it.
