Hmm. This one's tough to rate.
Liked: Very creative idea, including photographs as part of the book. Especially when I learned that the photos are actual, found photos, not made to accompany the book. Wonder which came first: seeing the photos and building the story around them or creating a story and hunting through a bunch of weird pictures until suitable ones turned up. Also liked the setting, the characters, and their peculiar talents. And I always like anything to do with time travel (ever s ...more

This was 3-3.5 stars for me.
I went into this book having not read the blurb and I didn't really know what to expect. The prologue was intriguing and, for the most part, I enjoyed the book. A lot of the plot twists were fairly predictable, but it wasn't terrible for a YA book. The writing was mostly fine, though a bit flowery for a 16 year old male narrator.

Very creative original book. It reminds me so much of a book I read in middle school called Sender Unknown. In the beginning I was a little freaked out I must admit ( I mean cmon the pictures were quite creepy) After the big part in the story is revealed, I calmed down as was able to enjoy the adventure in this book.
