We decided to keep with the hidden gem reads for next year (yay!) so I am taking the top 12 members who would like to take a monthly book pick for 2016 (well top 11 because of course I want a pick :)

message 2: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie I'm in! Also willing to pick for multiple months if need be.

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
Ok. I think we are good with 10 members. I know several of you mentioned you would be good to pick for two months so I am good with two of you doing that - Jenny and Ashley do you want to do the double honors?? Does anyone have a preference to the month - I would like to get all the months picked by the end of Dec. if possible. Thanks again everyone! I found a lot of great books this way last year so I am hoping for more of the same in 2016 :)

message 21: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments I'm fine with 2! My preferences for months are as follows:

Elora you are first!!! Any ideas for Jan.??

message 37: by Elora (new)

Elora Mitchell | 578 comments Alright! I was thinking about Erebos by Ursula Poznanski

It's about a video game that crosses into real life--gamers will appreciate the subtle gaming nods, but non-gamers can enjoy the story as well! :)

message 38: by Elora (new)

Elora Mitchell | 578 comments A book about a video game sounds like it could be pretty lame (I thought so when my husband first handed it to me). But he has impeccable taste in books so I decided to give it a try. And it was well worth the read :)

message 39: by Heidi (new)

Heidi | 6961 comments Mod
OK thanks Elora! I have never heard of it so am off to check it out :)

message 40: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments This looks pretty good! I found it on Amazon, you can get used copies for a penny.

message 41: by Ashley Marie (new)

Ashley Marie oh this sounds good Elora! I'll look into getting it from the library :)

Used copies for a penny! I checked and my library has it. I wonder why GR doesn't have an English description!

message 43: by Ashley Marie (last edited Dec 21, 2015 07:23AM) (new)

Ashley Marie Heidi it does, you just have to switch editions -- click on one of the editions published by Annick ;)

Ooh that looks really interesting Elora! Sounds a little like Ready Player One, which I enjoyed. :) Also here is a link to the English edition in case anyone is having trouble finding it.

message 47: by Jenny (new)

Jenny (juliababyjen) | 1572 comments Okay, I ordered a used copy :) This one will be fun! I'd never even HEARD of this, so very cool!

message 48: by Elora (new)

Elora Mitchell | 578 comments I'd never heard of Ready Player One until a couple of days ago and now again since you mention it Brigid. I think I'll have to check it out :)
