I just wanted the big reveal at the end to be a little more stretched out. There was such a big buildtup to it. It deserved something more.

Also I wanted to see Raphael's and Elena's relashionship from an outsider's point of view. There was some of that but in my opinion not enough.

Overall I just always want more more more! So sad that this book is finished.

I was not very psyched when I heard Dmitri would be getting his own book, after all what we have seen of him till now has been as leader of the Seven, arrogant, dark and debauched and in this book we learn why and find out about the mortal Dmitri who loved so deeply that even ages after he lost a part of his soul his heart still belongs to one.

Honor works for the Guild but she is not the same person anymore, she is hiding from her nightmares and pain, she was taken captive and kept as vampires p I was not very psyched when I heard Dmitri would be getting his own book, after all what we have seen of him till now has been as leader of the Seven, arrogant, dark and debauched and in this book we learn why and find out about the mortal Dmitri who loved so deeply that even ages after he lost a part of his soul his heart still belongs to one.

Honor works for the Guild but she is not the same person anymore, she is hiding from her nightmares and pain, she was taken captive and kept as vampires plaything for two months and that changed her. So, when the Guild director calls on her expertise of language and sends her to Dmitri she almost says no but changes her mind as she knows she doesn't want the monsters to win.

Honor grew up alone in foster homes, with dreams of a nameless lover and life growing more and more vivid. Dmitri is someone she has been fascinated with for so long, even knowing how he is but now he scares her, almost all vampires do.

But they come to work together and the sexual tension between them is off the charts but things aren't easy, an old enemy seems to have returned for Dmitri reminding him of the person who forcibly turned him and made him lose his love and family and then there is Honor and what was done to her. She even slices Dmitri when he tries his macho tendencies too much, we don't see her magically get over what was done to her and Dmitri helps her in hunting down those responsible. I loved seeing her recover and especially Dmitri's apology, she literally brings him to his knees.

Throughout the book Dmitri makes no apologies for what he has become, he has led a debauched life but it has been a life he never really wanted. I loved seeing glimpses of his past. He is still that sexually compelling man and Honor seems to make him feel. She tells him she knows that no matter what he has done, he still has a soul and that she won't let him tarnish that for her. She seems to give him more credit than he thinks he deserves.

That car smexing scene was hot, really. And I really enjoyed the book(view spoiler). Dmitri doesn't undergo a personality transplant, he's still an ass and loves playing games and is vicious but as we have seen in the Guild world, immortals need to be in order to maintain control, we just see a different side of him with Honor.

This series is definitely very dark and filled with violence but I still enjoy it and now I want Venom boy to get a book. ...more

I gave this book a high rating, due to my super crush on Dimitri (Who I find waaayy hotter than any of the Angels)As a matter of fact I am way into more of the vampires then any of the angels. Hm?
That said I was still a little disappointed in the plot, heroine, and ending.
The plot was almost unnecassry for me, I would have much rather just learned more about each character without the extra junk involved.
The heroine just did not seem right for Dimitri.

Sooooo goood!! I have loved Dmitri since the first Guild Hunters book and I really liked Honor as well. I figured out where they were going with her really early on, but that did not keep me from enjoying the ride.

I know the series is called Guild Hunters, but I hope each of Raphael's 'Seven' gets his own book. I especially cannot wait for Illium's. ...more

Oh wow. I think this may be my favourite book by Nalini Singh. The passion - both romantic and sexual - between Dmitri and Honor is palpable. Speaking of Dmitri, he has to be one of the hottest heroes I've ever encountered. I knew what the big reveal at the end of the book was going to be (I glimpsed those pages), but that didn't stop it being one of the most romantic scenes ever.

At first, I didn't think I would like a book about Dmitri. But this endedup being my favorite book in the series! Dmitri is a very complex character and one minute your heart is breaking for him, and the next you hate him! It was a great roller coaster ride.
