I was not very psyched when I heard Dmitri would be getting his own book, after all what we have seen of him till now has been as leader of the Seven, arrogant, dark and debauched and in this book we learn why and find out about the mortal Dmitri who loved so deeply that even ages after he lost a part of his soul his heart still belongs to one.

Perfectly stunning. This story and the emotions shown in this book were exquisite. The plot was expertly executed. Easily the best book I've read this year (which is saying a lot consider I just read one last month that was also excellent). These two wounded characters are going to be favorites for a long time. I cried on 3 separate occasions while reading this book. I strongly recommend reading it.

I sit here trying to find the words I can use to describe how brilliant this installment of the Guild Hunter was.
Let me first say that his book for me now is the best read for my 2011 year.
Why you may ask? Because the sheer torturous lives of Dmitri & Honor. They were so broken, so lost and finally in the end the became one.

This works well as a stand-alone, although it is a worthy part of a very good series. The protagonists each work their way through significant issues in order to be able to be together. The mystery is beautifully unraveled. Favorite characters from earlier in the series have roles. What's not to like?

At first, I didn't think I would like a book about Dmitri. But this endedup being my favorite book in the series! Dmitri is a very complex character and one minute your heart is breaking for him, and the next you hate him! It was a great roller coaster ride. I hope we get stories for Illium and Jason soon.
