★★★✩✩ I guess I’m in the minority on this one. Lots of my GoodReads friends that I am so often in synch with loved this one. I couldn’t get past a couple of things. Still, I’m willing to give this author another try. I’ve just requested the next book in the series from the library instead of purchasing it this time. A real charmer of a historical romance. A perfect light read. Very much in the same tone and style of Juile Garwood's Highland Series. Stubborn and brave heroines and alpha softy inside heroes. There are some nice twists here.

Gotta say I loved this. Great read and I am pleasantly surprised. I couldn't find much to complain about at all and that says a lot. Well maybe the cover, (model is too average to be Ewan). Characters, all of them, were wonderful, full and rounded. Again, I am surprised because I had read a book of Bank's a while back and wasn't impressed, so I was reluctant to try her again. I loved this book! It kept me up way past my bedtime, it was very engaging! I loved the relationship that the two main characters have and it was cute how much she vexed him. I look forward to reading the 2nd book in this series!
