This was an okay intro to this series. I think I had my expectations bar set a little high, so that may have affected my rating. I just wasn't wow'ed by anything, but there was nothing wrong with the book.

A dangerous hero who discusses his feelings? Wow. I was blown away by the depth of emotion Ms. Foster allowed her heartthrob, Dare, to expose in "When You Dare".

WYD is the extremely realistic story of Dare, a professional merc, and the woman he rescued from a slavery ring in Tijuana. Molly is a writer, one who has hit the big time and is working on a movie deal for her latest book; that is, she was working up until she was kidnapped from in front of her home. Dare was asked to rescue a friend's A dangerous hero who discusses his feelings? Wow. I was blown away by the depth of emotion Ms. Foster allowed her heartthrob, Dare, to expose in "When You Dare".

Molly is a writer, one who has hit the big time and is working on a movie deal for her latest book; that is, she was working up until she was kidnapped from in front of her home. Dare was asked to rescue a friend's little sister who was taken by the same scumbags; when he got there, he found Molly also and couldn't leave her. When Dare brings Molly to his house to recoup, he becomes enamoured and intrigued so takes her up on her request to hire him to find out who and why she was stolen away.

Molly is a very likable 30 year old. I related to her well due to her extreme independance and wish to never depend on anyone for her livelihood. She also wasn't able to trust and was not used to discussing her feelings with anyone but her fiercely loyal sister. Dare was as hot as Lori Foster is known for creating, but halfway through his book, I started being shocked at his strong emotions - I mean, mercenaries aren't known to sit around discussing how they feel, right? And Dare was a typical guy until he realized that he couldn't let Molly go once his job was done. Once he decided, however, he was a man on a mission until he met his objective! The secondary characters in WYD were wonderful and fulfilled their purposes well (I believe part of Natelie and Jett's story was told in a prequel). I hope Chris gets his own story soon! But the real sweeties of the story were Dare's "girls" - they were what brought Dare's emotions to the surface, I believe.

Great book once I got over the shock of a verbally open man. I'm looking forward to the next book, which BTW, is already out - this series is one of those lovely kind where a book is released each month so I don't have to wait a year to read Trace's story! ...more

I loved, loved this book! Dare is an awesomely tender alpha male. Molly is a strong and courageous damsel in distress.

Foster creates such emotion in this book. I was moved to tears by Molly's fear and Dare's ability to sense what she needed.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the lack of SEX; what can I say...I'm a hussy when it comes to these alpha males and it took until like 200 pages in for them to get busy! oh but when they did, it was fantastic!!! ...more

I really thoroughly enjoyed this book, I have read similar books in the past but it really fit with what I expected and everything I was looking for in a great read yesterday. I rarely read series books close together, preferring to spread them out a little but I have already read book 2 in this series and I'm highly considering going straight to book 3! :) ...more
