Sabin, keeper of Doubt, merciless warrior, driven leader and all-round badass. Gwendolyn the Timid, poster child for the self-esteem challenged, current captive and all-round victim. And they fall for each other so hard it registers on the Richter scale. This is a pairing worthy of Nina Bangs' Sparkle Stardust, the cosmic troublemaker who specializes in creating sexual havoc by matching total opposites [to their eventual delight:] to watch the fireworks.

Boooooooooooooorrrrrrrriiiiing.
I probably wrote this before, but I'll write it again.
When your supporting characters are more interesting than the main ones, you have a slight problem.
I am usually very favourable towards the Lords of the Underworld series, but this book came way to close to "same sht, different day" for me.
I expected more. More from Sabin; More from Gwen (even though the fact that she is a harpy was kind of interesting for a minute.... then that passed); More from Nix who receiv ...more

It took a minute for me to get back into the world (I read Book 3 in 2011) but it was off like a shot. The book opens with action and its pretty much nonstop throughout. I loved Sabin and Gwen. I loved that Sabin’s demon, Doubt, is pretty much terrified of Gwen’s other half. Mwa ha ha. I liked Gwen’s sisters, for the most part.

Let me firmly state: I love Gena Showalter's books. I've previously read everything she's written and some twice. But I just have not been able to get into the Lords of the Underworld series. Its probably me, not Gena, of course :) For some reason this series has not resonated with me; I'm OK with the storylines in theory however execution is too willy-nilly for me. There's too much going on as far as secondary characters & their stories that doesn't prove useful in the following books. I have n

This was a great book. We were able to see more of Torrin and Sabien. Although Paris in this books does not get a HEA I truly think it is coming and the end of the book leads up to why I think that. Sabien's romance is something of a struggle for himself. He also was the one that stood on the outstide but his meeting with the Harpy changes everything and it changes his view on his enemy as well... that is all i am going to say on that. Though Torrin can not physically touch anyone I think there

This book was ok, the story wasn't nearly as good as the previous books in the series. I like Sabin's character, thought so much more could have been done with him. Still really looking forward to hearing Paris' story.... not really interested in hearing Gideon's story, he kind of annoys me with the way he has to talk... anyways, its an ok read if you liked the other books in the series.

So far I think this is my favorite of the series. Loved Sabin, but it's been awhile since I read the first three in the series so I may have forgotten just how much I liked the first ones. Anyway this is a great read.
