I picked up this one as one of my groups picked it to read this month. After I was in 30 pages I realized I tried to read it a couple of years ago, but then gave up on it as it just didn't interest me. I decided to keep reading to see if things had changed for me this time around. I wasn't sure I was going to like this book and it had been sitting on my shelf at home forever. That said, I kept an open mind and just dove in.

I really enjoyed the story. I liked Ashlyn. I really liked all the Lords although there were times I had to stop in the story to remind myself which demon went with each immortal. That was one of the reasons I couldn't give it 5 stars.

While Maddox and his demon had that whole caveman instinct where the LI was involved, it really didn't bother me.

This is the first in the series - a series I only started reading because I had ran out of Kresley Cole Immortals After Dark books to read - although this may well be the weakest in the series - being the first thats not surprising - I still loved this book and it hooked me enough to buy the next in the series - by the time I had read that I was well and truly a fan!
