Faefever (Fever, #3) in Dangerous Hero Addict Support Group

For much of Faefever, MacKayla Lane, Mac to you and me, spends her time deciding who to trust, who not to trust, avoiding the ancient book everyone seems to be after and avoiding Jerricho Barrons- her mentor and most difficult challenge. (Which made most of the book frustrating because I heart JZB.)

Mac has received a page from her sister's diary and she is certain its from the Lord Master- her sister's former lover and the one time fae determined to bring down the wall between realms... a thing For much of Faefever, MacKayla Lane, Mac to you and me, spends her time deciding who to trust, who not to trust, avoiding the ancient book everyone seems to be after and avoiding Jerricho Barrons- her mentor and most difficult challenge. Mac has received a page from her sister's diary and she is certain its from the Lord Master- her sister's former lover and the one time fae determined to bring down the wall between realms... a thing that will loose a darkness on our world that's never been seen before or since. (For the record, the Fae (Or Seelies as Moning calls them) are not the fanciful little sprites everyone pictures when mentioning Faeries. They are beautiful and horrible beasts from another planet who now exist on another plane right alongside ours, so get the straight right away!)

However, after witnessing Barrons with blood on his hands she decides to keep it from him, as well as the fact she's seen the evil sinsar-dubh - the dark book itself- up close and personal and knows how its traveling around.

Meanwhile, V'lane the death-by-sex Seelie Prince is offering help again- and Mac is leaning heavily on him this time to get what she needs... i.e. more information on who she is and what she is becoming. (Ugh, so not Team V'lane here!)

Once again Moning enthralls the reader with the continuing story of Mac and her destiny to save the world. As alluded to earlier, much of this entry into the Fever Series is filled with information to lead us to the conclusion; information needed indeed, but it sure slows everything down a bit.

Faefever doesn't really pick up pace till toward the last quarter of the book when Barrons decides to engage again. (By the way, clues coming out on him are enlightening- especially upon re-read. I am now almost certain he is the Unseelie King- the Dark King of the Faerie- who once loved so deeply he created unspeakable horrors to keep his love by his side. But that's just a suspicion mind you- the author is brilliant enough to keep her cards close to her vest so her readers' innate curiosities are piqued enough to want to know the eventual outcome. [edit from 2016: so much for that fan theory! ::snort:: ]

It `s sure working for me!

Be warned: It is highly advised you purchase the fourth book in the series when you purchase this one! (Dreamfever) You will want it right by your side when you end Faefever because WHOOO is the ending a doozy!

Learning from my previous mistake of starting the next book before reviewing the one I completed, I am writing this review now. But, to be honest, I still don't think I can write a good review for this one. Especially since I am salivating for the next book.

The story continues, as Mac is trying to figure out who to trust and how to gather the information she needs. She still has Rowena as an enemy, but maintains a strange relationship with the other sidhe-seers - getting a little more info abou Learning from my previous mistake of starting the next book before reviewing the one I completed, I am writing this review now. She still has Rowena as an enemy, but maintains a strange relationship with the other sidhe-seers - getting a little more info about everything. Christian appears more often, but has little to offer mac. And Vlane and Barrons continue to be obsessed over who Mac sleeps with and vie for her affections/OOP detecting. But Mac has grown stronger, more complex, in this book, and she figures out a way to get the upperhand against these two "men". Vlane also educates her about Fae history - which is mostly not very useful now, but I believe will be. At least it explains why some things are happening. Unfortunately, this book ends with a shocking event that chills me to the bone. Never have I come across something like this, but there is no way on earth that I am not going to read the next book. Considering all the spoilers and reviews, KMM knows what she's doing, and I trust her.

I am starting to like Vlane more, though I still think he still a pompous a-hole and I would never sleep with him. Barrons, on the other hand, is driving me crazy. I want this man. I’d die for him. I’d kill for him, too. The quote is not for Barrons, but it so applies. While we are still no more closer to what Barrons is, we know that he's not unseelie and that he can't/won't touch the book. We also know that he has a strong attraction for Mac, but refuses to acknowledge it or act upon it. It's terribly frustrating, but the glimpses of his feelings are...highly explosive.

I am still failing to write a good review for this series, but for what its worth, I highly recommend this to everyone. I fear that this series would make it difficult for any other book to capture my attention. It's THAT good.

Warning: This is not for the faint of heart. While it is not specifically made for a mature audience, it deals with some mature sexual situations...so it would be appropriate to remove anyone who is sensitive to this subject from my 'EVERYONE' recommendation. ...more

I can't believe that I was bragging this'd be my favorite of the series so far. No. I take it all back.
Aside from that, this is by far the most entertaining from the series so far. Great action, and Mac really develops from who we first met to someone different.

This books has left me with SO MANY UNANSWERED and RISING questions! I just...I'm doubting everyone that I'm reading of! The only two I know that are constant and trustful characters are Mac and Dani. They don't seem to give off vibes of ...more
