I started reading Jeaniene Frost this year, after hearing so much about Cat and Bones (especially Bones!), and just had to give it a try. Good choice! I love this series, and the spin-offs are just great too. I like this one better than

First Drop of Crimson (Night Huntress World, #1) by Jeaniene Frost

"Eternal Kiss of Darkness" by Jeaniene marks the second installment of the Night Huntress World spin-off novels. Filled with humor, suspense, action, and drop-dead-gorgeous vampires, this book was truly a great read from start to finish!

Mencheres is on a mission to battle an old adversary from his past and has plans to finally draw his enemy out in the open. When he is held prisoner and tortured by a group of ghouls, he does not expect a human female to come to his rescue, and he certainly is no "Eternal Kiss of Darkness" by Jeaniene marks the second installment of the Night Huntress World spin-off novels. Filled with humor, suspense, action, and drop-dead-gorgeous vampires, this book was truly a great read from start to finish!

Private investigator Kira Graceling was just walking to her apartment one night when she hears moans and laughter coming from an abandoned warehouse. She knew she should have just kept walking, but Kira's conscience would not allow her to abandon someone she could possibly help. She never could have expected to be thrust into a world most mortals know nothing about filled with the creatures of myth and nightmares, and she certainly did not expect to meet the darkly seductive and compelling Master vampire Mencheres.

As the mutual attraction between the two grows and Mencheres' enemy is closing in, both Mencheres and Kira will have to decide how far they are willing to go and how much they are willing to risk to protect all they hold dear in the world.

Let me start by saying how much I just love Jeaniene Frost and her books! Her Night Huntress series is just phenominal and this spin-off series is just as wonderful. Mencheres has been a figure I have found truly interesting and compelling since his first appearance in One Foot in the Grave with Cat and Bones. He and Kira made magic in this novel! The chemistry was undeniable and very compelling! Loved the storyline, loved all the humor, and completely loved action and mystery Ms. Frost is renowned for throughout her novels! Also enjoyed the appearances of Cat and Bones as well as Vlad Tempesh. They are just fantastic characters! Definitely worth while read for all Paranormal Romance Night Huntress fans alike! ...more

This was book#2 of the Night Huntress spin-offs, this particular one focusing on Mencheres-who if you have been living under a rock and somehow have not read the Cat & Bones series, is Bones' grandsire. Basically, he's at the end of his rope because his visions and his ability to find people have dried up and he is beginning to feel that he has come to the end of his life. Oh my starrrrs! The signs of a good book are that you can't stop thinking about it when you are not reading it, and it leaves you wanting more when you finish it. This book is fabulous because it does both. I loved it more than First Drops of Crimson, and it gives Cat & Bones a run for their money.
